I had compared Plans with the Webcalendar program. Both were excellent but I liked the greater flexibility that Plans offered.

I would like to see different font attributes according to the calendar the event originates from (different font attributes for "Holidays" as opposed to "Main Calendar"). I have left a post to see if that is possible but have received no responses so I assume it is not.

I am now playing with the Upcoming Events portion of Plans. Wish me luck!

By the way, I disabled all tabs and set the calendar in an IFRAME.

Hi Ron. I'm just getting started with the calendar and web design in general. I would like very much to do as you have with the church calendar. The calendar that I'm working on is for the local region of the state horse council.
Any help would be apreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for help in setting the calendar in an IFRAME? If so, you can look at the source code for my calendar page (open it in the browser and click view>source in your browser) to see how that was done. You can also Google IFRAME and you will find several pages to help you with that.

If you have questions about the calendar itself, lemme know what you are interested in.

Well, I guess I need help with just about everthing - you know how "learning curves" go, I'm sure.
How do I change the original plans calendar so that is looks like your calendar?
What webeditor and other programs do you use?
I presume you developed the website. I really like it.
Thanks for your help

OK, here we go...

First, most of what I leaned about modifying the calendar layout came from the other forums. I would encourage you to browse through those and you will find pieces of information that will help you make changes.

There are two files that I have modified fairly extensively. The first is the plans.template file located in the plans/template folder. You can open this file in a text editor (notepad or another of your choosing) and change many things about the way plans appears. This file is the actual coding that places the calendar elements on your web page. For instance, this is where I eliminated the stuff I did not want at the top or bottom of the calendar. I also eliminated the tabs using this page. (Beware, if you eliminate the "add event" and "calendar properties" tab you have to access the directly from the address bar in your browser.

The second file to modify is the plans.css file. You can also open this in a text editor. This file sets colors and other attibutes of your calendar.

Also, I would encourage you to have an original version of your plans installation that you keep unmodified. I found sometimes I made changes that I needed to undo and I needed to look back at the original so that I could reverse it.

If it would be helpful, I can email you my modified plans.template and plans.css file. I use FrontPage 98 to begin my layout and then I tinker with the HTML. I do not use any of the FP elements (called webbots) nor do I have FP extensions loaded on my server.
