http://watorrey.net/plans/plans.pl?cal_id=0

A new (as of this post) installation with some header/footer modifications and a theme.

Nothing fancy but it looks really great with the "Wood" theme which matches the rest of my site quite nicely.

I left the Plans version with the link in the footer.

Until i read the warning about the password file, i was going to use mySQL but suspect it is just as fast or faster as a 'flat' file.

Minimal confusion from a web newbie in setting it up and getting it running. The forums were a big help. The online manual would be more useful if it were more comprehensive, though i wouldn't want future features to suffer because of it.

Well... I made some changes.

Now using mySQL (i read somewhere in the forums it was faster) and a parallel installation allows a basic event display calendar without all the tempting edit/change this and that links.

The admin calendar just has the title changed and the theme applied to the basic installation. That helps me tell them apart.

The password file works fine from a password protected folder on the server. Maybe the mysql username should be incorporated into that file as well?

Having just a display calendar without direct access to all the administrative stuff seems like a popular way to set Plans up. Perhaps it could be incorporated into a future release to avoid a parallel installation?

I think that that is a brilliant idea.

Link goes to 404 error. Main page has no mention of a calendar - lots and lots and lots and lots of ad's, but no calendar.

As for moving admin functions completely off the general calendar - that gets my YES vote as well
