Lloyd, offering my thanks as well... been using Plans for a while now.
http://calendar.jacksonbazley.com
I needed a calendar that I could make available to collegues and clients, accessible via the web, but didn't give all the details to everybody. So based on some reading on the Plans website, I found reference to two instances referencing the same SQL database such that they both access the same data, but can be different instances. I then created a full/regular instance in a secure directory, and modified the plans.cgi and plans.template to make a second, public instance which restricted access to the details.
In the public instance, you'll see that the administrative tabs are gone (those without private access do not need to create events or modify the calendar settings), and that if you try to click on any event for more details, nothing happens. This also required disabling right-click menus in this installation.
Not sure if anyone else would have a need to have a "public/private" calendar, but wanted to offer my example.
Thanks. |

Oh, one more thing... I am not a security guru, and its highly likely that I did not cover every base. So, if you happen to find ways around my "public" instance to get to the details of the events, feel free to let me know by dropping me an email at: jackson[at]jacksonbazley[dot]com.
Thanks. |
