First I want to say thank you. Next I have to say I am not a programmer so if you see anything I have done that is really rookie, it's because I'm not even at that level. It is very fun messing with this stuff, however, and I have gotten the calendar to the way I need/like it using it on my Windows machine with IE6.
So this is what I have done so far:
http://ourriver.com/calendar1/plans.cgi
I like the controls but I prefer seeing the calendar first, so the controls were put at the bottom. I got rid of the tabs and initially tried the method of using one calendar doing the admin for a second user calendar. It worked but I found it simplier to have only one calendar and make shortcuts on my desktop to the tab links such as:
http://ourriver.com/calendar1/plans.cgi?active_tab=2
Initially the printed calendar's right side was cut off using IE6 but I found if I changed the table width in the plans.template file from 100% to 95% the calendar would print out beautifully in "portrait" orientation, which is the way I like it. If I used a lot of icons and long words in the calendar edits there is a chance that the calendar would get too wide for the page, but I would really have to be pushing it. I found if I don't use icons the calendar will always stay on the page as far as width goes. I never planned to use but an occasional icon anyway.
The calendar is functioning great for my liking now with just a couple of very minor things to address if there is time.
1. When I export events to plain text it always prints out the current month only. It is now May and even if I bring up another month's calendar it will print out the details for May. I don't know if this is something inherent in the software or if it something I did.
(after I first wrote of this problem I found a fix in the Problems Forum submitted May 24 by NoseyNick. It appears to be OK now - thanks again)
2. My changing the table width to print out IE6 calendars took away from how the Firefox browser prints. (I have no idea about what other browers do with it). As long as I can print out great looking calendars with my setup, though, that is my main concern.
3. When I print, it always wants to print two pages even though everything on the second page is invisible. It would be nice to have it only want to print one page, but for now I just tell it to print page one and it is fine.
You guys do all the hard work and I get to play around with it. Works for me! ... Thanks |

| Nice example and write-up Mark. I like how you have placed the controls below the calendar instead of at the top. |

Whilst wandering around your calendar, I saw an entry that said, "Your password is [password given]" You might want to change that ASAP |
